Working in the accounting and bookkeeping field for over a decade, it became abundantly clear to May Jiang that there was a massive hole in the industry.

How we got started

Lots of small business owners were handling their Accounting, Bookkeeping And Taxes in one of three errant ways:

1) Too many small business owners who were untrained in the complex accounting industry were handling their books themselves (dangerous mistake).
2) Other small business owners outsourced their accounting to a small one-person shop (or relative or friend) that could only specialize in one area. Inevitably things get missed.
3) Finally, some small business owners hand off all their accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities to one of the large accounting firms worth billions. Will they do a good job? Probably. Will you pay an astronomical amount? Absolutely. But, you’re just a number. They may know nothing about your business, your goals, you.

She founded Beyond Profit and Wealth Consulting, a right-sized accounting, bookkeeping and tax planning firm.

Her dream was to be an all-in-one firm that caters to today’s small business owners by partnering with them and truly understanding their business and goals.

Today Beyond Profit and Wealth Consulting (BPWC) focuses on growth businesses. From startup, they help businesses grow to $5M and $10M in revenue. Specializing in service professionals, such as HR firms, legal firms, financial services, consulting firms, doctor’s offices and real estate agencies, her clients are in a position to grow exponentially.

Our Team

May Jiang

May Jiang is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Certified Value Builder, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®). May graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business with degrees in Accounting and Finance and was an accounting scholar and finance fellow. With over a decade of professional experience, May has advised businesses of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. As the founder of Beyond Profit and Wealth Consulting (BPWC), May now focuses on supporting small to mid-sized businesses in local communities. BPWC is a full-service firm that helps local entrepreneurs start their businesses, grow revenue, design tax strategies and retirement plans, as well as eventual business owners’ exit strategies.

May Jiang is passionate about helping local businesses to be successful so the communities continue to grow with prosperity.

Lupe Bernal

Lupe Bernal is a staff accountant at BPWC. She assists clients with bookkeeping and reconciliations. Lupe is dependable, detailed-oriented, and thorough with managing various tasks. She holds both a B.S. and M.S. from Cornell University.

Mona Jiang

Mona Jiang is a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant at BPWC with experience in the finance and accounting sector. Known for her meticulous approach and strong analytical skills, Mona ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records and provides vital support to the Accounting team. Mona is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a B.S. in Economics and also holds an M.S. in Accounting from Bentley University..

Brinky D. Qiu

Brinky D. Qiu, CPA, EA, is an Accountant and Tax expert with extensive experience in tax planning, tax preparation, and client representation before the IRS and local taxing authorities for businesses and individuals. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), she is also a credentialed IRS Enrolled Agent (EA).
